Sharing a video I made about the Music Genres created during the 2000s
A longer version can be viewed here
As usual, a disclaimer:
Behold, a comprehensive list of all the music genres created during the 2000s.
Obviously that there are a lot more to include, because there are many genres that will only mature in the future, but have their roots in the 2000s.

A note: I forgot to include a genre called Electroswing, also created during the 2000s. Here is a sample of its sound:
One of the most important conclusions that can be drawn is that, historically, the 2000s were disputed by Rock, Pop and Hip Hop scenes, while none of the new genres created during the decade actually make it to the top. There almost seems to be a certain lag, but conclusions cannot be drawn at this stage. Nevertheless, some notable exceptions can be made. Musicoutfitters listed 2 acts by Lady Gaga (notable in the Wonky Pop scene) in 2nd and 3rd places in the year 2009.
Right now, the two next videos planned include: "Evolution of Music Genres during 20th century (1900s-1990s)" (aka Music Genres Created During the 20th Century) and "Evolution of Popular Music By Year (1950-2010)(USA)(Billboard)".
The first video will be particularly lacking any visual stimulation, as it will serve more as an academic understanding (and synthesis of wikipedia's sources) rather than a short and stimulating video. It will also be particularly long, as the list of genres created explodes after the 2 world wars. The second video will serve as a comparison with Musicoutfitters, to see how two different businesses view the top musics.
